The Waterloo Region Branch of the Canadian International Council (CIC) will convene a roundtable of foreign correspondents, for an event entitled; “Reporting the World to Canadians”.
This public event is presented in partnership with, and hosted by, The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). It will assemble an impressive set of Canadian journalists from print, radio and television, for an informal panel discussion on international affairs.
The panel will explore the challenges of reporting from areas of conflict, disaster, political transition and economic growth. Beyond the issues, panellists will be asked to describe the culture of reporting from abroad, what limitations exist, what dangers are involved, and what life is really like as a foreign correspondent.
